The Erie SeaWolves defeated the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 6-0, in Eastern League action at UPMC Park. Erie pitcher Sean Money had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Money, now 4-2. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Jordan Sallee closed the game out for Erie, earning his 3rd save.

The Rumble Ponies had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the SeaWolves going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old catcher Pat Cain came to the plate. Cain hit a solo home run on a 0-1 fastball from Binghamton hurler Bobby Shope. It was Cain's 12th home run of the year.

Money attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
