The Reading Fightin Phils beat the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 14-8, at NYSEG Stadium. Reading first baseman Chris Gomes had an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The Fightin Phils, at 62-67, inhabit 4th place in the Eastern League Eastern Division.

Reading used the clutch hitting of Matt Flythe to capture the win. The catcher drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Fightin Phils the lead, 11-8. For the game, Flythe had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
