George Ridell led Portland to a win over Altoona. The final score was 11-8. Ridell scored 2 times, going 4 for 5. He also knocked in 1 run batted in. Bobby Pesek snagged the win in relief. Portland used the stroke of Pat Taylor to get the win. The third baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Sea Dogs ahead, 7-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Taylor told the Portland Times. "It's as simple as that."

The loss makes Altoona 74-51.
