Flying Squirrels Drop Senators, 6-4
|
The Richmond Flying Squirrels topped the Harrisburg Senators, 6-4, in Eastern League action at The Diamond. The standout performance belonged to Richmond pitcher and Lexington, Nebraska, native Joel Galvan. Danny Mendez earned the save, his 17th. With the win, the Flying Squirrels have a record of 49-63.
In the top of the ninth, Jose Castro stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Senators were trailing 6-4, but had the bases loaded. That's when Danny Mendez made a terrific pitch and Castro flied out. Gone was the dream of a Harrisburg comeback.
