Fans at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium got to see not only a home-team victory, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season.

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats outplayed the Hartford Yard Goats en route to a 6-2 win, but the standout was third baseman Jamie Elliott. Elliott netted 5 hits in 5 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line.

"Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Yard Goats manager said in postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too."

Jamie Elliott singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

Thus far this season in 89 games, Elliott is batting .340 with 13 home runs, 52 RBIs and 40 runs scored. He has 82 hits in 241 at-bats.
