Coontz Excels in 14-6 Trenton Win
The Trenton Thunder defeated the Bowie Baysox, 14-6, at Prince George's Stadium. Trenton shortstop Nate Coontz had a superb performance. He went 4 for 6 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Devin Hoff earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. With the win, Trenton upped its record to 64-44.

With two out in the top of the eighth, Chris Hanson had a game-changing hit. The Thunder second baseman slammed a 2-run single off Fred Turley, making the score 9-6, Trenton.

In postgame comments to the Trenton Chronicle, Coontz said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
