Fisher Cats Rally For Late Win Over Rumble Ponies
|
New Hampshire and Binghamton put this game in the books despite some rain.
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats weathered an outstanding game by Binghamton second baseman Alex Gallardo to topple the Rumble Ponies, 6-3. Gallardo was 4 for 5 with 4 singles. Bobby Schmitt picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 8-2. Kymani Troutman, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2053 draft, was tagged with the loss. Joel Litz picked up the save for New Hampshire, his 5th of the year.
New Hampshire used the timely hitting of T.J. Allison to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fisher Cats on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We take it day by day here," said Allison, "and today was a good one for us."
The defeat makes Binghamton 51-54.
