6 Straight Wins for Fightin Phils
The Reading Fightin Phils besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Altoona left fielder Joel Diaz by beating the Curve, 12-10, at FirstEnergy Stadium. Diaz went 5-5 with 2 doubles and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times. Luis Amaya picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 6-4. R.J. Northey suffered the loss. The Fightin Phils improved their record to 39-57 by beating Altoona.

The game-ending blow was delivered by Phil Maddux in the bottom of the tenth. That's when he hit a 2-run home run off 21-year old right-handed pitcher R.J. Northey to win it for Reading and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"We didn't let this one get away," said Maddux.
