The Bowie Baysox defeated the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 10-7, at NYSEG Stadium. Bowie designated hitter Malik Gardner had a superb performance. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Jeremy Corbett earned the win to go to 3-5. He allowed 5 runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. The Baysox are now 44-52, while the Rumble Ponies fall to 43-53.

Bowie used the hitting of Steve Brauninger to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Baysox on top, 7-3. For the game, Brauninger had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Brauninger told the Bowie News.
