Reading Dismisses Hartford, 7-1
|
Behind a fine performance from Steve DeMarco, the Reading Fightin Phils knocked off the Hartford Yard Goats, 7-1. DeMarco went 2-3 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Fightin Phils. The winning pitcher was Chris McMahon. He tossed 94 pitches over 5 innings, allowing no runs on 4 hits. By defeating Hartford, the third-place Fightin Phils improved to 38-34.
Early in the game, DeMarco had a grand slam home run for Reading. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Fightin Phils on top, 4-0.
"It never gets old," said DeMarco. "Winning, that is."
