Chris Melton, who is tied for 5th in the EL in strikeouts with 37, was terrific for the Erie SeaWolves in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Reading Fightin Phils. His performance earned Melton rave reviews. The winner was Melton. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Sergio Villalobos. Erie, with the win, is 17-40.

Bobby Delgado aided the Erie cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman drove in one run.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Delgado.
