Sea Dogs Suffer 7-5 Home Loss
|
Erie first baseman Chris Gerlach made his presence felt in the 7-5 SeaWolves triumph over the Portland Sea Dogs. Gerlach went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Jordan McMillan was the winner. He's now 2-7. The loser was Felix Saavedra. With the win, the SeaWolves are 16-38.
Erie used a clutch at-bat from Javon Sheats to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the SeaWolves ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Sheats, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
