Phillies Stay Hot, Beat Mets, 5-2

The Philadelphia Phillies locked up a win at Citzen Bank Field, knocking off the New York Mets, 5-2. On the mound for Philadelphia was left-hander Kory Sizelove. He played a major role in the triumph. Sizelove, now 14-8, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Joe Campanaro picked up the save, his 46th.
The Phillies got an important contribution from second baseman Jeremy Hines, who in the bottom of the fifth knocked a 1-0 fastball to left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 17th double of the season and put the Phillies ahead, 5-2.
"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Hines.
The Phillies, at 85-77, have now won 5 straight.
