The Cincinnati Reds beat the Chicago Cubs, 2-1. Cincinnati pitcher and Dallas, Texas, native Kyle Campbell led the way. The 4th-place Reds bumped their record to 77-84.

Cincinnati used a timely hit from Sean Ries to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Reds ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.

"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Ries told the Cincinnati Daily. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
