Tigers Beat Bobcats, 4-1
|
The Detroit Tigers took on the Cleveland Bobcats at Arhaus.
Robby Ramirez, who is tied for 8th in the AL in quality starts with 18, propelled his team to victory over the Cleveland Bobcats. The final score was 4-1, Detroit. In 8 innings, Ramirez surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Sam Ward earned the save for Detroit, his 15th of the year.
Eric Grunden had a big 2-run home run for the Tigers in the top of the fourth inning. With Detroit leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Lowell Boehmer and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Tigers on top, 4-0.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Ramirez. "It sure beats the alternative."
With the win, the Tigers have a record of 83-78.
