Principato Brilliant as Yankees Top Blue Jays, 3-0
Steve Principato was outstanding against Toronto. The right-hander, who led the NL in innings pitched with 205.2 in 2052, had a screwball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Yankees 3-0 win. Steve Byington, credited with the save, is now 4 for 5 in save opportunities. The second-place Yankees bumped their record to 87-74.

Principato allowed no runs over 6 innings. He also racked up 9 strikeouts.

"Steve knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said New York manager Robin Hawkins.
