Blue Jays Drop Orioles, 5-4
|
No one was more impactful than Greg Keel in the 5-4 Toronto win over Baltimore. Keel, who is tied for 3rd in the AL with a .555 slugging percentage, went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Nate Hamilton closed it out for his 3rd save. The first-place Blue Jays have won 4 straight.
Toronto left fielder Dylan Philippi produced at a critical juncture. It happened in the top of the eighth with Doug Gilroy on the mound and Toronto leading 4-3. Philippi got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Philippi said.
