Los Angeles Wins, 3-2, Over White Sox
|
The Los Angeles Angels and Chicago White Sox played an exciting game.
Starting pitcher Josh Pershing was a major factor in the 3-2 Los Angeles Angels triumph over the Chicago White Sox. Los Angeles pitcher Sid Sobczak earned the win, hiking his record to 7-8. Tony Jeter suffered the loss. The save went to Victor Cirilo, number 39 for him.
Los Angeles used a timely hit from Chris MacDonald to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Angels ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Los Angeles manager Cameron Angels GM.
Los Angeles, at 92-64, is 4½ games up in the American League West Division.
