Diamondbacks Win at Colorado, 5-4
|
The Colorado Rockies got a sterling performance from left fielder Mike Dadswell, but the Arizona Diamondbacks still prevailed, 5-4. Dadswell was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Steve Halpern got the win, improving to 8-12. He held the Rockies to 2 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. With the win, the Diamondbacks have a record of 75-79.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jaime Thomas? The Arizona shortstop had a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to put the Diamondbacks on top, 3-0. For the game, Thomas had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
After the game, Arizona manager Taylor Updegraff applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
