The Minnesota Twins racked up a win at Minute Maid Park, bumping off the Houston Astros, 4-1. Phil Maida, who started for Minnesota, pitched effectively for his team. The first-place Twins hiked their record to 83-69.

In the top of the second inning, second baseman Josh Valentine had a 2-run home run for Minnesota. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Twins on top, 2-0.

"Phil just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Minnesota manager Jared Twins GM.
