Diamondbacks Earn Late 6-5 Win
|
New York catcher Joe Chrzan had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Chrzan was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as Arizona beat the Mets, 6-5, in 13 innings. Chris bin Sofian, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities. Arizona is 4th in the National League West Division with a record of 74-78.
Sean Masters was 1-5 for Arizona. The 26-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Rob Olinger. It was his 73rd RBI of the season.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Arizona manager Taylor Updegraff.
