Phillies Pick Up 4-2 Win Against Chicago
|
Philadelphia pitcher Mike Grey had a large part in his team subduing the Chicago Cubs, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Joe Campanaro sewed up the save, his 28th. Philadelphia is first in the National League East Division with a record of 80-72.
Philadelphia used a clutch at-bat from Jeremy Hines to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Phillies ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Grey. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
