Braves Prevail, 5-3, Over Cincinnati
|
Atlanta Braves starter Mario Urquiza pitched a strong game against the Cincinnati Reds at Carter Memorial Field, leading the Braves to victory, 5-3. The second-place Braves have won 5 straight.
Bobby Steiner, who finished 2nd in the NL in triples with 9 in 2053, chipped in a 2-run home run for Atlanta in the bottom of the third. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Urquiza told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
