Washington Tops Milwaukee, 6-4
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Washington Nationals and Milwaukee Brewers.
The Washington Nationals defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-4. Catcher Chad Day deserved a large share of the credit. Day was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times for the Nationals. The Nationals bumped their record to 80-69 with this latest triumph.
Had Chris Blanton not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Blanton hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Nationals.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Blanton told the Washington Citizen.
