The New York Yankees trumped the Boston Red Sox, 10-8, at Yankee Stadium. New York right fielder Rhylan Jauch was terrific. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Jon Hathaway in relief. His record improves to 9-6. Jon Kerley took the loss. Chris Muench earned the save for New York, his 15th of the year.

New York took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Mario Altamirano hit a run-scoring single to make it 9-8, Yankees.

"We ground out the win," said Jauch. "That's all that matters."

The second-place Yankees have a record of 77-66.
