Brewers Stymie Chicago, Take 4-0 Win
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs.
The Milwaukee Brewers knocked off the Chicago Cubs, 4-0, in National League action at Caterpillar Field. Milwaukee pitcher and Chesapeake, Virginia, native Bobby Born had an outstanding performance. Born, the winner, moves to 9-11. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 5 walks.
The Brewers got a big at-bat from designated hitter William Feltham. For the game, Feltham went 2-4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 44th double of the season gave Milwaukee a 2-0 lead.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Born.
With the win over Chicago, the Brewers improved to 66-76.
