Baysox Claim 5-2 Triumph
|
Bowie second baseman Alex Delgado was instrumental in helping the Baysox triumph, 5-2, over the Richmond Flying Squirrels. Delgado was 3-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 3. Fred Turley picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 3 in 6.2 innings. Bob Carrion closed the game out for Bowie, earning his 2nd save.
Matt Foley's at-bat in the bottom of the first inning was a big one for Bowie. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 3rd and Bowie trailing 1-0, the right fielder hit a run-scoring single.
Said losing manager : "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
