Greg Keel helped his team muscle past the Houston Astros, 8-3. In the game, the Toronto first baseman went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The first-place Blue Jays, at 80-60, lead the American League East Division by 5½ games.

Keel contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Toronto in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Keel took a cutter from Jimmy Burns and stroked the home run to right-center. His 24th home run of the season allowed the Blue Jays to leap in front, 4-3.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Keel.
