The Portland Sea Dogs beat the Erie SeaWolves, 11-6, at UPMC Park. Portland catcher Mike Mason had an outstanding performance. He went 2-4 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Jayden Dogan. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. The third-place Sea Dogs are now 26-16, the SeaWolves 21-21.

Portland used the timely hitting of George Ridell to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sea Dogs on top, 9-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Erie manager .
