Atlanta Downed, 5-4, by Reds
|
The Cincinnati Reds spoiled a good performance by Atlanta third baseman Yeicol Christiansen, bumping off Atlanta, 5-4, at Great American Ball Park. Christiansen was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. The loss makes Atlanta 71-65.
Had Josh Caya not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Caya hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Reds.
Cincinnati manager Larry Link commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
