The Philadelphia Phillies overcame a pretty good performance by San Francisco left fielder Danny Lamb, beating the Giants, 6-4, at Citzen Bank Field. Lamb was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jamari Hill got the win, improving to 5-5. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 5 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 3. With the win, Philadelphia goes to 68-66, while the Giants fall to 52-82.
Jeremy Hines aided the Philadelphia cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the first. For the game, the second baseman was 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Said Philadelphia manager Chris Berry: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
