Los Angeles Rallies for 3-2 Win
|
Due in large part to first baseman Kevin McMahon, the Los Angeles Angels sunk the Houston Astros, 3-2. McMahon went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Brad Holmes picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-2. Jake Chrisp, who finished 4th in the AL in saves with 32 in 2057, was tagged with the loss. The Angels improved their record to 87-46 with the win over Houston.
McMahon had an important at-bat with the bases empty in the top of the eighth, when he hit a double. The Angels went on to win.
"Not enough offensively in a winnable game," said losing manager Ron Astros GM.
