Steve Salgado, the first overall pick in the 2058 draft, propelled his team to victory over the Las Vegas Athletics. The final score was 5-2, Seattle. Steve Cuevas, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 35th save. At 67-63, Seattle is in third place in the American League West Division.

With a runner on 1st and one out in the bottom of the eighth inning, center fielder Josiah Bedolla delivered big for the Mariners. Seattle was trailing 2-0 when he belted a 2-run home run.

"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Seattle skipper Joel Mariners.
