Red Sox Defeated, 5-2
|
The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Boston Red Sox, 5-2, in American League action at Rogers Centre. Dan Mock pulled his weight. The 9-year veteran was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Toronto reliever Ernie Evans picked up the win, upping his record to 4-4. Chris Tobery absorbed the loss. Chris Peacock earned his 24th save in 28 chances.
Mock had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 sinker from Chris Tobery, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Blue Jays a 3-1 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Mock.
"Glad to go home with a win," said Mock.
