The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

A good performance from right fielder Kyle Horton helped the New York Yankees defeat the Boston Red Sox, 10-6. Horton was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Yankees. The Yankees lead the American League East Division by 3 games.

A key moment came with no one out in the bottom of the third. That's when Horton hit a fastball from Steve Meadows for a run-scoring single, putting New York up, 2-1.
