Nationals Down Brewers, 6-2
|
The Washington Nationals dealt the Milwaukee Brewers a 6-2 loss at Miller Park. Chad Day was the star on offense. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Washington, now 59-66, holds down 4th place in the National League East Division.
In the top of the sixth, Washington first baseman Alexis Molina gave his team the lead. With two out and a runner on 1st, Chicken hit his 19th home run of the year. Milwaukee pitcher Rocky Mahler surrendered it. With that, the Nationals jumped in front, 3-2.
"We try to keep the mood light around here," said Molina. "Winning helps."
