In a low-scoring game between the Minnesota Twins and the Carolina Stingrays, pitcher Steve Fennell was the difference-maker. The Minnesota right-hander was tough as nails in the 3-2 Twins win. Alpha Nightingale wrapped it up, recording his 17th save. The Twins now have a record of 66-57 with the win over Carolina.

Josh Valentine had a big solo home run for the Twins in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Minnesota leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he got a slider from Pat Veenstra and swatted a home run to right. It was his 8th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Twins ahead, 3-1.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Minnesota manager Jared Twins GM.
