The Washington Nationals knocked off the Miami Marlins, 12-8, at Nationals Park. Bobby Schreifels was a big reason Washington won. The left fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Chris Sneddon, who finished 3rd in the NL in wins with 15 in 2060, was the winner. He's now 6-3. The loser was Jon Edwards. The Nationals now own a record of 66-49.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the second. That's when Nationals shortstop Josh Tomaro hit a fastball from Jon Edwards for a 2-run single. Just like that, Washington was up, 3-2.
