Red Sox Lose to Phillies, 3-0
|
Philadelphia right-hander Ruben Cuellar pitched his team to victory over the Boston Red Sox at Citzen Bank Field. The final score was 3-0. Joe Campanaro was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 14 save opportunities. At 55-52, the Phillies claim third place in the National League East Division.
Chance Summers had a big solo home run for the Phillies in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Philadelphia leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a sinker from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Chris Qualls and punished it. The result was his 16th home run of the season, which put the Phillies on top, 2-0.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Summers.
