Washington Wins Game 4 in Extras; On Verge of LCS
The Pittsburgh Pirates took the Washington Nationals into extra frames, but came up short.

It took 12 innings to do it, but Washington eventually triumphed, 5-4, to extend their lead in the Division Series. Rookie shortstop Josh Tomaro was the man of the hour for Washington, as he went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the PNC Park contest. The win gives the Nationals a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 Division Series.

Mike Culton drove in one run against the Pirates. With the game tied in the top of the 12th inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Washington in front, 5-4.

"This game tested our mettle," said Culton.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.
