Blue Jays Hammered by Elrod, Drop Game 4 to Mariners
The Seattle Mariners and the Toronto Blue Jays will take the Wild Card Series to a decisive 5th game. Facing a must-win situation at T-Mobile Park, the Mariners beat the Blue Jays, 7-6, on a walk-off in extra innings to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Seattle shortstop Steve Elrod was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Seattle. That's when Rusty Youngblood hit a solo home run off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jake Dimick to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Youngblood said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."

Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
