Tourists Clip Suns, 3-2, in R1 Contest
|
The Asheville Tourists got a strong game from starter Billy Schuler, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.
The Tourists took the 3-2 win over the Hagerstown Suns in Game 4 of the Round 1 in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Schuler. Schuler threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball in the win, which brought the Tourists into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.
David Corona was the walk-off hero for Asheville. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Tourists shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This team is real focused right now," said Asheville manager .
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at McCormick Field in Asheville.
