Dodgers Take Tight Tangle
|
Chicago got a valiant performance from pitcher Jonathan Brown, but it wasn't enough to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers. Los Angeles won the game, 5-4. Brown threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The winner was Los Angeles reliever Jerry Zepeda, now 4-2. The loser was Lowell Boehmer. The save went to Eric Richards, his 3rd this season.
Los Angeles used a timely hit from Chris Geesaman to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dodgers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I still think this team can play even better," Geesaman told the Los Angeles Chronicle.
The Dodgers lead the National League West Division by 2 games.
