Braves Win, 8-4, in 11
|
The Atlanta Braves topped the San Francisco Giants, 8-4, in 11 innings at Dr. Pepper Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Atlanta second baseman Mike Mundt. Dave Rusk earned the save for Atlanta, his 13th of the year. Today's win puts Atlanta at 53-42, while San Francisco falls to 35-58.
Andy O'Hare drew 1 walk in 5 plate appearances for Atlanta. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the 11th. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Erik Kozak. It was his 30th walk of the season.
In comments to the Atlanta Gazette, Mundt insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
