Nationals Deal Brewers 2-0 Defeat
|
The Washington Nationals topped the Milwaukee Brewers, 2-0, with shortstop Josh Tomaro playing a big role. Tomaro went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 for the Nationals in the win. Chris Ferrel, the winner, goes to 7-3. He allowed no runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts over 6.2 innings. The Washington win streak is now 7 games.
Tomaro had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a first pitch sinker from Eric Gray, he banged a solo home run to center, giving the Nationals a 1-0 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Tomaro.
"I like our mindset right now," said Washington manager Deran Sanchez.
