Sea Dogs Need Extra Innings to Top Fisher Cats, 6-4
New Hampshire got a terrific game from designated hitter Josh Swarts. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Portland, 6-4. Swarts was 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Getting the save was J.D. Grieshop, his 6th. Portland, at 17-17, occupies third place in the Eastern League Eastern Division.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Bobby McCallister came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing New Hampshire pitcher C.J. Hoeth, he hit a 2-2 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Portland on top, 4-3.

"This game showed the grit and grind of our guys," said McCallister.
