Texas Nets 2-1 Win Versus Giants
|
The Texas Rangers defeated the San Francisco Giants, 2-1, in American League action at Globe Life Field. Texas pitcher Bobby Gilleland had a standout performance. Texas reliever Iov Uesugi picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Erik Kozak was saddled with the loss. The 4th-place Rangers are now 47-42, the Giants 32-54.
The Rangers procured the win, in large part because of shortstop John Clarkson. In the bottom of the ninth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
Gilleland said afterward that "winning is the goal."
