In a low-scoring game between Portland and New Hampshire, pitcher Steve Semenza was excellent. The Portland right-hander helped his team knock off the Fisher Cats, 2-1. The save was credited to J.D. Grieshop, his 5th. The Sea Dogs saw their win-loss record go to 16-16. At the same time, the Fisher Cats fell to 20-12.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Billy McClain? The Portland second baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Sea Dogs on top, 2-1. For the game, McClain had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
