Fieber Stars as Giants Top Cubs, 9-0
San Francisco and Chicago got after it at Dr. Pepper Stadium.

Riding the 3-hit performance of the 23-year old right fielder Dan Fieber, the San Francisco Giants defeated the Chicago Cubs, 9-0. San Francisco's record now stands at 36-48, placing them last in the National League West Division.

Had Fieber not come through in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Fieber hit a run-scoring single. The Giants never looked back after taking the 1-0 lead.

"What a dismal performance," lamented losing manager Troy Heron.
