Casaletto Powers River Bandits Offense
|
The Quad Cities River Bandits beat the Beloit Snappers, 8-3, at Harry C. Pohlman Field. The win was due in part to second baseman Dane Casaletto, who went 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Quad Cities now sports a record of 85-54.
With Quad Cities leading 2-1 in the top of the sixth, Casaletto batted against Beloit pitcher Mike Macias. Casaletto hit a sinker to center for a 2-run home run. His 16th home run of the season put the River Bandits on top, 4-1.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Casaletto told the Quad Cities Gazette. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
