Loons Win with Late Heroics
|
Clinton got a terrific game from left fielder Josh Westbrook. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Great Lakes, 4-3, in 10 innings. Westbrook hit 2 home runs. Great Lakes reliever Dylan Charles was the winner. His record is now 1-2. The losing pitcher was Dan Corley. At 39-89, the Loons claim 7th place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.
The Loons got a clutch hit from shortstop Jim Miles. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Loons.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Clinton manager .
